Yeah, I love the heck out of my two kids, however, there are moments when I want to send them on a one-way trip to somewhere far, far, away (and then I get over it). I thought I would post this pic when I need to remind myself that they both do, indeed, love their father.

Road trips are the ultimate vacation freedom. See something interesting – simply pull over and check it out. We spotted an older man feeding donkeys somewhere outside of Houston, I screeched the car to a stop, jumped out and proceeded to converse with the fella. My kids thought I was nuts, but it didn’t take long before they jumped out of the car and joined me.

I travel a lot! One of my favorite destinations is the San Antonio, River Walk. I love to people-watch, and the River Walk is a great place to kickback, enjoy a glass of vino, and watch the tourist interact with the “gem” of SA.

I caught my oldest daughter in a moment of peace. I love when I catch my kids lost in a book. This photo was taken outside of Austin, Texas just south of Bastrop State Park. We rented a place called the “Bastrop Tree House”. I’m not sure if the house still stands as the fires of 2011 torched the area.

The Landing offers up some of the best Jazz West of New Orleans. The Landing is located on the River Walk, San Antonio, TX. The Landing has both an exterior patio and an interior area. There is a cover charge if you plan enjoying the music inside, but it is worth it. They also make a great Manhattan.

One of my favorite hotels that I frequent is the Omni Galleria located in Houston, Texas. It is very near Memorial Park. Memorial Park offers great jogging and biking trails and the hotel has an Olympic length swimming pool. This makes for an enjoyable after-business workout. There is also an occasionally automobile parked out front that will give any man instant car envy. The Bugatti Veyron. Sorry about the noise – camera phone.
